This is a series of photographs of several female artists. I make a portrait and a contextual photography of the artist and her work. the aim is strengthening women artists and presenting them in a different perspective, where we value not only their work, but also who they are.

two key works: a portrait of a colleague styled as a 1920s actress and an image-collage of flowers, both digitally retouched in vibrant, citric colors.

The portrait of the Prof. Carolina MArtínez captures the essence of 1920s glamour, through attire and styling, yet it is the bold, surreal retouching and synthetic enhancements recontextualizes the image. She did her PHD about the cinema on this historical period. The bold, surreal retouching in electric blues, and neon colors disrupts the nostalgic sepia tones of the era, prompting a reevaluation of historical memory.

My photographic work is a critical examination of the role played by women in the audiovisual scene of the 1920s.

Developed in cynotipia. These photos are colleting memories. Memories that are dyed in blue, in meditrerranean Blue.

The conceptual starting point is a spider’s net. It grabs. As if it was in the labyrinth of the minotaur, following a thread, memories are linked to each other.

And, thus we know that our remembreance are so intimate and fragile we still identify who we are and our personality based on them.

In this composition, the traditional elements of a still life are intertwined with femininity in a contemporary approach.The cotton flower, the gracefully curvilinear vases and the naked mannequin symbolise femininity. However, they also represent a distant and hollow representation of femininity: beautiful, but empty. This artwork prompts reflection on the objectification of women, portraying how the media often reduces them to mere objects or empty symbols, devoid of humanity.

In second-hand markets, there are objects that are symbolize an historical period as well as they are a representation of a social ritual. For example this teapots, preserved with extreme care from generation to generation for special occasions, are in my opinion the symbol of the gathering.
Craftsmanship, the art of forgetting time and exercising patience.Thinking with one’s hands. My multiple folded bird-shaped papers are a tribute to the ancient Japanese tradition of origami.
Likewise, when I carve thin pine branches and paint them with care in bright colours, I flow into a wonderful time-waste.

our homes are full of them and their meaning is becoming increasingly poor. Advertising is fierce and sells us the joy of family and home in the form of small glasses and flowers and rabbits and birds. In the past every object and every photo was a piece that allowed us to reconstruct the puzzle of a life. An I imagine possible “storytellings” between this objects making small arrangments.

In conversation with the architects about their practice, they explain to me the history of Holzfachwerk, the traditional German method of house construction. Since ancient times, the wood has been brought by boat from the Black Forest. The transport was not easy and the solutions found are a good example of problem solving. In the studio there were various examples and tools.

The story inspired me to take these pictures, which are used on the website to explain the restoration of this historic building, by the care with which the material was collected and the knowledge of the technology behind it. FLATLAY Composition. Natural Light.

Students learn in my classes to create Moodboards. This are a tool to communicate either their project “look and feel” and to start to define a posible color palette for their project. I like that in their first exercises they learn to use Photoshop to create this inspirational collages. In my clases I like to make my own examples for students to follow. 2023- Transportation Interior Design example for the Exercise, made in Photoshop.
